Joshua Feldman, L.C.S.W.

Joshua Feldman a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. He has experience working with children/adolescents, young adults (university students), adults, and families from diverse backgrounds in community-based and residential treatment programs as well as day treatment centers.

Joshua strives to create a warm, affirming, and collaborative space to explore and address the challenges in life. Whether struggling with a life transition, interpersonal/familial conflict, trauma, anxiety, depression, or are simply seeking support, his goal is to facilitate deeper insight into your relationships with others, as well as yourself, to make meaningful changes to your life. His experience working in psychodynamic, CBT, exposure and response prevention, mindfulness, and structural family therapy models enables him to draw upon each to create an approach that meets your individual needs.

While borrowing from a range of treatment interventions, he is grounded in being curious about past contexts and their relationship to the present. Understanding this relationship helps minds (and bodies) make sense of what is impacting us in the present and creates opportunities to gain new insights, break damaging patterns, and explore healthier experiences/relationships with ourselves and others.

Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia

The Institute for Relational Psychoanalysis of Philadelphia is a four year psychoanalytic training program concentrating on relational approaches to psychoanalysis and intensive psychotherapy. Local faculty, as well as nationally renowned relational analysts, provide supervision and teach their courses. It is the hope and intent of this institute to provide an educational experience of genuine rigor and excitement and, through the analysis and supervision, an emotional experience of great depth and intensity. It is also the Institute’s wish to make training feasible and practical, to prepare therapists to be analysts in the 21st century, responsive to personal and professional contexts of candidates' lives, given that psychoanalytic work now engages different treatment modalities, frequencies of session, and different sets of difficulties in living. If interested in this training program, contact David Mark.

La Puerta Abierta

The mission of La Puerta Abierta is to improve access to quality, holistic mental health support in the Latino immigrant and refugee community through education, collaboration and service. An important aspect of LPA's work is providing pro bono individual and family counseling with youth and families who cannot access services elsewhere due to language, economic, legal and social barriers. La Puerta Abierta works with those who are impacted by immigration, lack of documentation, displacement of various family members, and the subsequent trauma and chaos that is perpetuated by these experiences. In addition, we collaborate closely with other providers, such as schools, clinics and other community programs, with the goal of shifting attitudes and service delivery practices that are responsive to the complex experiences and needs of our immigrant and refugee community members.
